Pedroncelli winery is one of Sonoma's oldest wineries. It's vineyards are characterized by sloped topography and gravelly residual soils, they have unique growing conditions that bring out the best in wine. Wines bearing the Pedroncelli name grace tables from Coast to Coast. Only 25 miles from the Pacific Ocean the Dry Creek Valley is recognized at one of California's finest vineyard regions. I always look forward to sharing Pedroncelli wines and some great food with Jim and John at the Geyserville Inn.

Eastside Vineyard 2005 Sauvignon Blanc
Dry Creek Sauvignon Blancs tend to be very expressive, and this one speaks of the true taste of the grape. Sun, soil, and fog combine to retain the expression, which is crisp and the essence of ripe fruit. Pedroncelli has been producing this grape since 1981.They use temperature-controlled cold-fermentation, which leaves all the fruit just where you want it, in the glass!

2005 Pedroncelli Chardonnay
Pedroncelli's focus is to maintain the fruit of each varietal. This Chardonnay was harvested in late August-early September from the Frank Johnson Vineyard. This lovely vineyard is located at the southern boundary of Dry Creek, less than two miles from the Russian River. The Russian River will be forever famous for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, enough said.

Three Vineyards 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon
After four decades of producing this grape in the Dry Creek Valley, John Pedroncelli the winemaker, knows how to get the best from this noble grape. This wine is 85% Cabernet, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot. Pedroncelli uses 25% new American Oak barrels, which adds a nuoance of vanilla and allows the fruit to sit on a layer of toasty oak.

Dry Creek Valley 2003 Mother Clone Zinfandel
Pedroncelli's Zinfandel vineyards are located on the hillsides surrounding the winery. This land was originally purchased by John Pedroncelli Sr. in 1927. They were cloned from the original “mother” vines, of which one quarter of an acre exists today. This fruit is one of my favorite grapes and is included in this blend. The Mother Clone Zinfandel will not disappoint.

Bench Vineyards/Dry Creek Valley 2003 Merlot
This Merlot is a combination of two vineyards, the Estate Vineyard from Pedroncelli and the Jasper Long Vineyard along Dry Creek Road. The wine speaks for itself and the two vineyards add different aspects to the wine. The unique growing conditions of Dry Creek Valley come out in this wine. Enjoy!

Dry Creek Valley 2005 Zinfandel Rose
In the early 1950's, John Pedroncelli created a Vin Rose, in 1954 this became Zinfandel Rose. This wine is finished like a white wine, in stainless steel tanks. The acidity adds a great finish, which is perfect for a summer afternoon picnic. This is a wine to try, when you are starting to drink red wines. This is a preview of the finish of a red wine, with the rich fruit, and nose of a white wine. I really enjoy Roses and as most winemakers are making at least these days. I suggest that you try a number of them, and decide which choose your own favorites.
