FINE WINE PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS
HAVE WINE WILL TRAVEL

Marietta Cellars

Margaret Anne Mendocino White Wine
Jake Bilbro created this white blend, the only white in this portfolio. This a blend of Arneis and Tocai Friuliano which are grapes grown in northern Italy. I thought at first this will be a wine for summer afternoons, a lighter style wine….I was way off, this is a very well structured and food friendly wine blend that might become a favorite of yours with your first bottle. Congratulations to Jake, this wine stands as a favorite of mine, as well as wine drinkers I have shared this with.

California Port, Lot Number 2
Its time for dessert….. This port features such grapes as Touriga, Souzao and Zinfandel. The bottle suggests anything from dark chocolate, to fruit. First I'm going to try a cigar, Padron Anniversary series 1964, to be exact. This is a lighter port with great fruit. Now on to the dark chocolate. Perfect!! I think this is where I will stay for a while. Enjoy this feature and this port.

Old Vine Red, Lot Number 42
When people came from the old country they brought with them cuttings from their vines in the old country. These vines were planted with many different kinds of grapes all together. The vineyards were then harvested in a field blend creating red table wine such as this wine. This is a blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Carignane. This winery has made this wine for a long time, and really have captured a blend that is bold, spicy and long on the finish.

Marietta Cellars 2003 Petite Sirah - Somona County
This wine is straight forward and a great Petite Sirah. Just let the wine speak for itself, one bottle at a time. Even if you have never tasted a Petite Sirah this wine will make you a fan of this grape. Sonoma County is one of the best places on earth to grow this grape. Once you try these wines you will put them on your favorite's list. Enjoy a bottle right now, you can order online.

Marietta Cellars 2005 Zinfandel - Sonoma County
Dry Creek, Sonoma County and Geyserville, Ca are regions famous for Zinfandel production. Many of the Zins are over the top, in your face kind of wines. This Zin is made in a style that fits my taste. The common theme to the wines from this winery is approachable, soft and perfect food wine. This wine features a great finish, with lush fruit and a satisfying richness. Let's listen to Jake as we tell you of Zinfandel from Marietta Cellars.

2002 Marietta Cellars Angeli Cuvee
Alexander Valley Marietta Cellars is located in Geyserville, Ca on property which is known as the Angeli Ranch. The property had been in the Angeli Family since 1886, until 104 years later when it was purchased by Chris Bilbro, owner of Marietta Cellars. Hence the name Angeli Cuvee. The wine is a blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Carignane. It is a rich full bodied red wine built to age at least a decade. If you don't have any of this wine, you are robbing yourself of an experience or many experiences. Enough said! Cheers!

Marietta Cellars 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon - Sonoma County
Alexander Valley is the source of most of this fruit. This valley lies between Healdsburg and Calistoga (Napa Valley) and is the source of many great wineries. Alexander Valley vineyards are primarily growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. This is a source of fruit that must go back in time, as this wine has it all. A great mouth feel, long and forever on the pallet, expressing this great vineyard. Bold and powerful, yet this wine has a great soft quality to it, which expresses the style of this great winemaker. Don't be fooled by the word soft as this wine as all from this producer have that style which lets the fruit speak, and lets us drink the wines very soon after release.

Marietta Cellars 2004 Emilia's Cuvee - Mendocino County
This wine took me totally off guard, and this blend will be forever a favorite. This wine is a blend of Montepulciano and Negro Amaro. A Special wine dedicated to the parents of Chris Bilbro, the winemaker. His statement in this blend speaks of pride and accomplisnment, as well as craftsmanship, in making this great blend. The grapes were grown by Lowell and Barbara Stone of Fox Hill Vineyard. My guess is that the yields are very small, and the cases available not as many as we would like. Try it, you'll like it! In fact you may love it! Step out of your comfort zone and explore this world class blend. After you can turn all your friends on to this wine, adding to the discovery of blending at its best.

Marietta Cellars is located just outside of the little town of Geyserville in one of California's premiere wine growing regions, Sonoma County. The grapes are primarily from Sonoma County and grown in older, dry farmed vineyards with limited production per arce. They produce over 35,000 cases and market their wines without a tasting room. They really sell their wines one bottle at a time to wine lovers that instantly become lifetime fans and collectors of these very special wines. The winery is a family run winery which personifies the personality, outlook on life, and general lifestyle of founder and winemaker Chris Bilbro. His son Jake joined me for these features on the wines from Marietta Cellars. Cheers!
